
Ananda M. Chakrabarty
Ananda M. Chakrabarty is a distinguished university professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. His illustrious career spans several decades, during which he has worked in various capacities with the United Nations, NATO, the U.S. government, the Government of India, and the Einstein Institute for Science, Health and the Courts, among others. Dr. Chakrabarty has received many awards, including the Distinguished Scientist Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), MERIT Award from NIH, U.S. Army Distinguished Service Award, Pasteur Award, Inventor of the Year Award, American Chemical Society Public Affairs Award, and Padma Shri from the Government of India. His current research involves development of anticancer and antiretroviral agents from microbial sources.
