Jose Vilas

José L. Vilas is professor at the Physical Chemistry Department, UPV/EHU. He is the head of the Macromolecular Chemistry Group, a highly interdisciplinary research group involved in the state of the art in polymer synthesis, characterization of polymeric materials and early-stage technologies for polymer production, transformation, and recycling.  Prof. Vilas’ research is focused on the synthesis of smart polymers, polymers from no-fossil resources, advanced transformation techniques, and 3D/4D printing of polymeric materials.  His work includes more than 200 articles and technical papers and 3 patents, and he has supervised 20 PhD students.
