Keiko Hirose
Keiko Hirose and Linda A. Amos have a long history of researching the interactions between molecular motors and microtubules, using electron microscopy and image analysis. Collaboration began when Dr Hirose (from Japan) was a postdoctoral visitor to Dr Amos’ laboratory in the United Kingdom.
Chapter authors include leading researchers on dynein from Japan (Sutoh, Kon, Hirose, Toyoshima, Higuchi, Oiwa, Ishikawa, Kamiya, Inaba), the United States (Vallee, Vale, Gennerich, Reck-Peterson, Sale, Mitchell, Barbar), and the United Kingdom (Burgess, Carter). All of the areas covered in the chapters were represented in the unique International Dynein Workshop held in Kobe, Japan, in November 2009.
