Klaus Tauer
Klaus Tauer, studied chemistry at the Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena, Germany form 1970 to 1977. He graduated 1974 (Diploma in chemistry) with a thesis “On the photoconductivity of polyarylene-vinylene polymers” and finished his studies 1977 with a PhD (Dr. rer. nat. defense 1978) in polymer chemistry on “Investigations of spectral sensitization of photoconductivity of polyarylene-vinylene polymers“(supervisor Prof. Dr. H.-H. Hörhold). 1977 he started as scientific coworker in the Institute for Polymer Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the former GDR in Teltow-Seehof with studies on emulsion polymerization of vinyl chloride. He finished these studies 1987 with a Habilitation (Dr. sc. nat., Academy of Sciences of the former GDR) in polymer chemistry with a thesis on "Modelling emulsion polymerization of vinyl chlorid". Since 1992 he worked as group leader “Polymer Dispersions – Heterophase Polymerisation” in the Department of Colloid Chemistry (Director Prof. Dr. Markus Antonietti) of the MPI Colloids and Interfaces in Teltow / Golm (since 1999), Germany.
