Xiaowei Sun
Xiao Wei Sun studied at Tianjin University, China, 1986 to 1994, where he received his B.Eng., M.Eng., and Ph.D., all in photonics. From 1994 to 1998, he studied at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he received his second Ph.D. in electrical and electronic engineering. In 1998, he joined the Division of Microelectronics at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Nanyang Technological University as an assistant professor and was promoted as an associate professor in October 2005. In 2010, he was invited to serve as the Dean of College of Science, Tianjin University. Prof. Sun has (co-)authored more than 250 peer-reviewed journal publications in the area of photonics and microelectronics, with more than 4500 citations. He is a Fellow of Society for Information Display, SPIE and Institute of Physics (UK). He is a senior IEEE member and a member of the OSA. He is the founder and director of SID Singapore and Malaysia Chapter. He was awarded the Nanyang Award for Research and Innovation 2009 for his research in ZnO nanodevices. He was one of the six finalists in the National Technology Award of Singapore 2008.
Yi Yang received her Ph.D. from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Currently she is a Scientist at Data Storage Institute, Singapore. Her interests include synthesis, characterization, and nanodevice applications of various metal oxide semiconductor materials and carbon-based materials. Dr Yang is familiar with various types of nanomaterial growth and device fabrication and a professional in surface chemical analysis and nano/microstructure analysis. She is a co-recipient of Singapore IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award and member of MRS-S, MRS, IEEE, and OSA.
