Yoshihiro Asai
Yoshihiro Asai joined Prof. K. Fukui’s group in Kyoto University and was awarded a Ph.D. in 1987 in the field of quantum chemistry. He then moved as a tenured researcher to Dr. Jun Kondo’s group at Electrotechnical Laboratory (now known as AIST) and started research in condensed matter physics theory, including strongly correlated electron systems, superconductivity, computational physics, and non-equilibrium transport. He is now a director of a research center at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan.
