
Arie Rip
Arie Rip, now retired, has been at the University of Twente since 1987. He was educated as a chemist and philosopher at the University of Leiden but moved to science, technology and society. In the 2000s, he led the subprogram on societal aspects of nanotechnology, within the Dutch national-level R&D consortium NanoNed. He was expert adviser to the European Commission on the governance of science in society, now also on Responsible Research and Innovation.
